The happiest of birthdays to our little dude!  To our puzzle loving, avid reader, goofy, smiling, moody, Z-O-M-B-I-E singing kindergartner.  It's hard to believe how fast you are growing and how smart you keep showing us you are.  I pray you always know how much we love you and how excited we are to see you grow.

Father-Son Weekend

A light post today, for I'm out and about on a Father-Son Weekend with Jude.  We've been looking forward to this for a while now and are finally getting to it.  Jamie and Avalyn had a girl's weekend year before last, and Jude and I have been trying to plan a quick getaway for the guys.  

We've headed out to Evansville, IN and Metropolis, IL.  We're going to go see the Superman statue and museum and otherwise going to just enjoy the time together.  It will be a weekend focused on him, planning things I know he will like and looking forward to just listening to what he has to say.

I know as the years pass, things will change, but right now, I'm rebelling in McDonalds and Gattitown, in the Superman museum and the zoo, and in being a kid again.  To see the world through his eyes.

As I've said before, time is our most precious resource, and I'm determined to make the most of it.

Happy 5 Jude!

It’s so hard to believe how fast this little boy is growing up. He’s definitely in the little kid category now; no longer a toddler. 

He’s our Harry Belafonte loving, video game playing, Muppet Show watching, word creating little goof. My favorite new word of his is crappersnappers for when things go wrong. 

I love his new obsession with Dr. Pepper, which he’s doing to copy his dad. I love his desire to look handsome. I love his love of spooky things.

I hope you have had an awesome day today buddy. Looking forward to all the new discoveries this year ahead. 

Father To A Son

This little kid.  My all black clad, emo 4 year old.  The tender-hearted voracious sight word learner.  The one who takes it on himself to put our dates on the calendar.  He’s our photographer, filling our camera rolls with his photos and videos. He in fact asked for this picture. 

He brings so much joy into our world.  

Like his sister, he is growing up too fast, but I am enjoying every minute of it  

Today is apparently National Sons Day. There is a debate on whether it is March 4 or September 28, but the sentiment remains the same. So like for Daughters Day, I thought I would share some poetic words for my son.

Happy Birthday Jude!

It's hard to believe this guy is three years old today.  He is our incredible little problem solver.  A lover of puzzles, dinosaurs, and Mickey Mouse.  A singer of "Mambo Italiano" and "Hey Jude".  Our new three-nager.

We love you buddy!  Hope you have a most incredible day!  And we can't wait for everyone to get to party with you next week!

It's Incredible! Jude's 2!

Over the weekend, we celebrated this boy's second birthday.  Birthday last Friday through party on Sunday.  It was a weekend filled with a trip to the zoo, Legos, Lego movies, Incredibles shirts, and friends and family.

It's hard to believe how fast these past two years have flown and how quickly he's grown up.

I hope you had a Happy Birthday, buddy!  Here's to many more.
